Sub Platysmal Flap for Open Thyroidectomy

The Flap Raised for Open Thyroidectomy is called Sub Platysmal Flap.



It is raised in a plane after cutting the subcutaneous muscle, Platysma.
The superior extent of the flap is up to the level of Thyroid cartilage and the inferior extend is up to the Supra sterna notch.
